Beastie Boy’s Licence to Ill and Run DMC Raising Hell where the first 2 tapes I ever bought. These albums were pivotal in my music life and the real first departure from top 40 radio music. Adam Yuach’s passing is a big loss for me. Here is a free mix by Z-trip for you to download and rock out to this weekend.
PS Paul’s Boutique was their greatest album ever!!!

Rich Aucoin put on a crazy show at the Media Club last night. It was a multi-sensory experience filled with chanting, dancing, laughing, parachutes and a whole lot of energy. Four members of the racket ball record club attended. It was a super fun outing, and I think everyone appreciated the show on different levels. As one concert goer put it, “The show was totally charged!”
A big part of the show was videos that were synced to the music playing on a screen behind the stage. At the end of the show Rich put his cell phone number up on the screen and told the rabid crowd to text him if they wanted a free copy of his newest album. I texted him to tell him the show was awesome and asked for my free copy on vinyl. He said it wasn’t out on vinyl yet, but would be soon. He sent me a link to a free download of his album. I appreciate that and I’m looking forward to getting We’re All Dying to Live on vinyl.
